Microneedling: What to Expect
Immediately After Treatment
Redness, warmth, and mild sensitivity are normal. You may also notice some pinpoint bleeding.
1-2 Days
Redness and sensitivity may continue, similar to a mild sunburn. Your skin may feel tight or dry.
3-4 Days
Redness may begin to fade. Mild dryness or peeling may occur as your skin continues to recover.
After the First Few Days
Redness and sensitivity typically begin to settle, although your skin may continue to feel dry or sensitive as it recovers.
Post-Treatment Instructions
Your skin may appear red or feel warm, tight, sensitive, or slightly swollen following your treatment. Mild dryness or peeling may also occur as your skin recovers. These effects are generally temporary.
Your Aftercare Is Included

Your esthetician will explain how and when to use each product so you can continue caring for your skin at home with products specifically selected for your treatment.
For the First 24 Hours
Keep your hands off your treated skin as much as possible. Always wash your hands before touching your face.
No makeup for 24 hours.
Use clean pillowcases and linens the first night.
Cleanse gently. Use the BiON Gentle Creamy Cleanser with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry. Do not scrub or exfoliate.
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers for 72 hours.
During the Healing Period
Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and other potentially irritating active ingredients until your skin has recovered and your esthetician gives you the go-ahead.
Avoid waxing, facials, injections, and other skin treatments until your skin has fully recovered and you have been advised that it is safe to resume them.
Protect your skin from the sun. Follow your esthetician's instructions regarding when to resume sunscreen and use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher when appropriate.
